Letters to my future self

24th sep - there's always a higher mountain

spent today at adrian's place helping him get his new hard disk fixed. his operation was done jus 2 days back and now his arm's still in a sling and will be for another about 2 weeks.

ran into a couple of problems today when it came to partitioning. but eventually it got solved after a few phone calls to geniune experts in the field.

i've always thought i've had more general knowledge of computers as compared to most people, but as the chinese saying goes, "yi shan hai bi yi shan gao". there's always someone who knows more then you do. as it turned out, helping him today was actually helping myself. as i type now, my computer is formatting the previously untapped half of my hard disk drive. i've never quite figured out how to do it until today. life is a neverending quest for knowledge, i suppose.

alright, back to gaming ;p

22th Sep - new mods to the box

the fact that i'm still typing now means that all the stuff that i've bought from sim lim this afternoon has been successfully fitted into the computer.

this includes the following:

Leadtek Winfast GeForce A6600GT 128MB DDR3 (graphic card)
Kingston 512MB DDR400 CL2.5 (ram)

costs me close to 400 and left me very poor, but very happy (who says money cant buy happiness? =P)

other news sees me securing my 1st full-time job. will be working full-time with mart come october. time to put punctuality into my list of piorities.

oh well, back to WOW for now and enjoy the kickass graphics.

19th sep - Clearance

finally got my IC back today. what really surprised me was how smooth sailing the whole day turned out to be. i had imagined it to be a whole day of logistic disasters, but it was otherwise. then again i pretty much kept my stuff well such that nothing was missing, that i suppose helps.

officially a free man now
yay!

Sep 18th - tuning back to the correct frequency

i finally got back to top 8 today, after so many months. lost in the semis to kengyin. still fine since it was a 4 way split, its been quite a while since i top 8ed, the last time was went the cosmic rays deck was still around and the last time i brought home money was... wad? 4-5 months ago?

as usual, THE FARKING PIECE OF SHIT WAS UBER ANNOYING. yes, the hate is evident. played him in the last swiss round, he was an idiot, no difficulties in finishing him off. but he pulled the utimate stunt: he ticked his own name to signaled that he won and signed on the result slip, assuming that no one will be low enough to do that, i just took the slip and signed. only noticed the problem when the standings came out. i should have been 1st after the swiss rounds if that FARKING LOW LIFE havent pulled that stunt off.

FARKING DISHONORABLE PIECE OF SHIT.
may there be blood in his pee and the toilet bowl breaks when he's doing his business.

BAH.
ANNOYANCE.

17th sep - ORD loh... not.

techincal screw ups been happening in the past week, still holding on to my 11B. clearance forms signed already, but will have to wait til at least monday before i can get trade my IC back.

it seems that while i was away there was alot of things i wasnt informed off, oh well, not like i really care anyway. *grunt*

and there a chapter ends.

i would like to blog about how a new phase of my life has began, cept that upon reflecting on it, it actually was already set into motion some 1 month odd ago when i didnt have to go back anymore. life style has changed quite drastically. that and given the fact that my closest friends are all abroad.

sent in my uni application for hotel management at griffith in queensland. was told that its well known for courses of that kind in the area. results should be out in.... 2-4 weeks?

watched advent children yesterday. unfortunate for me, the version i got was unsubbed. fortunately its a movie that didnt require understanding the language to enjoy. the animation breaks the language barrier. its great, i recommand all you final fantasy fans out there to get it NOW.

1 week, thats the amount of time it take for me to drag 3 people into the virtual world of warcraft, as we close into the 2nd week, it looks like i might be able to drag a few more in.

life for now, is good.
back to grinding.

13th sep - while waiting...

just a short post while waiting for the weekly server maintance to be done.

not much has been happening really. well, considering that a big chunk of my free time now is spent at home in front of the computer, i doubt there will be anything happening anytime soon either.

after 1 week of talking bernie into buying the game, he went to get a new computer, the game and the guide book all at 1 shot today. some fierce.

upcoming events:

15th - clearance (ORD loh!)
16th - settle applications for uni
18th - PCQ

9th sep - to fly or not to fly

the option to go over to australia to study presents itself again.

i'm sort of stuck, i dont know if i want to go. its going to be a huge financial strain on my family, i dont really want to see that happen. on the other hand, it will be a very good experiance in many aspects. i'm also worried about failure. my path in education hasnt been smooth sailing at all, this is well... the last straw. if i fail again, thats it... its an all in.

bah.

Letters to my future self

3rd sep - hello, stranger

today was almost a great day, almost.

was at basement of OC queueing up for some junk food, when i felt a tap on my shoulder. turned around only to see a beautiful lady smiling back at me. she began to strike up a conversation, which is like a dream come true, except from what she's holding in her hand and where the conversation is leading to... she's only trying to sell me an insurance policy.

d'oh.

sigh.
irony. how fate makes a joke out of everything.

read some y-the last man today. interesting stuff, into the 3rd volume already. what keeps me driven is the story backdrop, i still dont see why every other person in the story is trying to assasinate the main character. even though he IS the last living male human on earth, why his life seems to be in constant danger still doesnt quite make sense. maybe i still havent read up to any important parts yet, but so far, its still quite entertaining. a different perspective from life, i guess.

other reads in the past week - v for vendetta, watchman.
