Letters to my future self

25 jan - 2 weeks left

the past month has been quite a rush of events, running abt here and there trying to finish all the paperwork.

the most worrying part - the accomodations, shd be settled later today.
now all thats left is to buy a LCD moniter, a suitcase, extra clothes and stuff.

anyway its confirmed, i'll be flying off on the 6th of feb, at 9:10 pm terminal 1, flight QF 52.
barring any major problems, i would be in brisbane on the 7th, sometime in the morning at abt 6.45 australian time(at abt 5+ sg time?)

and it turns out, i got my start of semester date wrong. 14th isnt the 1st day of school. its the orientation, school officially starts on the 27th, so i have ample time to settle down before school starts.

the no expecting my last 2 weeks around to be less busy then the past month. as a matter of fact, i forsee myself eating dinner out, alot.

on a side note, meet up with the gang for dinner today, passed around the presents that kun sent back from NY. dinner at cartel at serangoon gardens. weihao the uncontactable remained uncontactable and didnt turnup. =(

no one brought along cameras either ><"
all was fun, too bad we wont be meet up very much aft i fly.... oh well.

alright, to bed

4th Jan - my poor feet

made the trip now to RELC (regional english language centre) to chk out some stuff for the trip down under. its located at orange grove road... which is near shangri-la hotel...

the last time, i made it there in one piece without losing my way... the last time. its supposed to be a 20 min walk from orchard mrt.

today, i got off at orchard mrt, which was correct. i started walking down orchard road... pass forum, man u shop, then.... i got to the.... british council. -_-"

something in me suddenly reminds me of how i needed to get to the british council the last time for the gaiman event but i ended up near the RELC. this time, its the other way around.

so.... i thought i had my directions wrong, i back tracked all the way back to orchard mrt and headed down scotts road instead. after a seemingly unending number of turns, i ended up in front of RGS, which i'm pretty sure i'm near the RELC cos i remember seeing the school the last time i went to the RELC. it took me a further 15 mins to get to the RELC -_-" total stime spent: close to 1 hr.

to make things worse, i got an abrasion earlier this week, thus i decided not to wear shoes to aggrevate the abrasion. wore slippers instead. bad, bad decision. new pair of slippers + 1 hr of non stop walking action = blisters. annoyance. the biggest blister is located on my left heel. *OUCH*

i left the place on a cab cos it was raining. on the way out, was then i realised that i had taken the correct path initally, but a wrong turn. instead, i had to convince myself that i've taken an entirely wrong path and had to do things the hard way instead. *sigh*

anyway i'm not too happy abt the answer i got my IDP (the agent that handles overseas student applications) today. they seem to only be able to answer very generalised questions abt studying in australia. everytime i asked abt accomodations, i seem to get a different answer each time. the air fare part is equally troublesome. what i find strange of all things is the lack of a admission package of any sort from the universtity for their students. as a result i have alot of unanswered questions. bah.

anyway, if possible, i would be flying off on the 31, right aft the 1st 2 days of CNY and that gives me about 2 weeks before school starts to try and fit in and settle down.

shd try and settle the air tickets soon.
approx 3 weeks+ til take off, got to make gd use of this time.

boy, off for now

Letters to my future self

1st jan - bringing life back to the barrens

yesterday was the last day as a full time at comicsmart. the irony is that i'm actually working later today, full time shift, on a sunday, on a public holiday, with part time pay. haha. *drowns in sarcasm*

well, here's wishing everyone happy holidays. a merry christmas thats abt 1 week too late, but jus in time for the happy new year.

would say this year's holiday season is abit different for me, at the same time yet very normal. different in the sense that i'm working on every public holiday eve and the holiday itself, which apart from the christmas songs and the horrendous crowds makes it no different from every other working day. gd thing there were no plans for celebration this yr anyway, everyone's not around anyway.

speaking of not around, i have a briefing on the 21st, which means i'll prob get an air ticket for aft that. that effectively means that i'll be flying on abt slightly less then 1 month's time.

meanwhile, it will be jus random part time work as and when i'm actually required, tying up loose ends and making plans jus in case i'm not coming back during the holidays.

still worried abt how i'm going to adapt to life over there. i'm moving to a totally different enviroment. heck, i dont even know if i can get a computer and get internet connection setup over there. thats also provided that its not going to cost me arms and legs. one can only have so many limbs.

plans for the new year:
- to update this more often, thou despite writting for abt wad? 2 yrs +? i still dont know how many ppl actually read this crap i write.

-to excel in my studies... ok maybe not excel, but hopefully at least do well. havent really been doing any serious reading in a loooooong time, the last time i read a non comicbook, i remember falling asleep halfway. ><"

-to make gd my time in australia. its not an easy decision for my parents to send me over. one can only waste so many chances in life.

that abt all that i wish for the coming year, gd luck to me.
